Calleija Awarded with Coveted Butterfly Mark from Positive Luxury

Calleija is immensely honoured to have recently earned the Butterfly Mark certification by Positive Luxury. This is the only international trust mark that recognises luxury brands for their commitment to creating a positive impact on people and the planet.

Positive Luxury is hailed as one of the leading sustainable platforms in the world by Vogue, Forbes and more. When a luxury brand meets Positive Luxury’s stringent criteria for governance, social framework, environmental framework, philanthropy and innovation, they are awarded the coveted Butterfly Mark.

This famous trust mark is named after the rare Large Blue Butterfly once extinct in the United Kingdom in 1979. Thanks to united conservational efforts, it was reintroduced – an iconic example that illustrates sustainable practices can reverse negative impacts on earth’s resources. Now the Butterfly Mark is a strong universal symbol which promotes transparency and enables consumers to choose certified brands that go beyond compliance; brands which meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance.

“We are delighted to certify Calleija with the Butterfly Mark for their commitment to having a positive impact on people and the planet.” said Positive Luxury Co-Founder, Diana Verde Nieto. “They have earned their certification because of the great work they are doing to source responsibly, their dedication to conscious design and their investment in the local community.”

PINK DIAMOND Q & A WITH JOHN CALLEIJA

Calleija recognises the limits and fragility of the world’s natural resources, which is why we only support long-term suppliers that uphold their vigilant code of sustainable practices. We also work exclusively with specific diamond companies that subscribe to the highest ethical standards of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS).

In addition, by using Argyle Pink and Blue diamonds in Calleija creations, we can trace each gemstone back to the mine of its origin. Our bespoke jewellery is crafted within our on-site workshops using a unique combination of both modern and traditional techniques. This enables us to ensure all steps within the manufacturing process meets the highest standards of sustainability.

“I am proud to say Calleija has always operated in an ethical and eco-friendly manner,” says Calleija Founder and Designer, John Calleija. “To be recognised as a leader in sustainable luxury is an honour and we are committed to strengthening our practices every day.”
